When the clothes are being made, some extra measurement can be typically added to the actual body measurements, which is known as allowance. There’s always some leeway. If the actual thigh thickness is 80cm, then it in the trousers it should count as 84cm. Here allowance is 4cm.

Armholes might seem to you like holes for arms in the wholesale t shirts. In the pret-a-porter garments industry, the armhole is the outer measurement of the arm where the sleeve is attached to the body.

A bar tack is similar. It’s a simple re-stitching of a small length after completing a stitch. Some garments will be more overloaded, will stretch and bear more load than the others. To protect them from breaking, you need to reinforce the stitch. It is done over the stitch of these clothes to make them withstand the extra load which is known as bar tack. For instance, bar tack might be done to the pocket belt loop and so on.

A ligne is a measurement used to determine the diameter of a button. 1 ligne = 0.635mm Buttons are seldom standardised, but the common measurement allows you to plan button holes.

When making the clothes, the fabric might be cut. After cutting the fabric, some parts of garments need to be kept in place, because they can’t shift easily from one place to another, which is known as a bundle. Bundling threads can create interesting effect on the wholesale t shirts in the business.
